How Much Weight Could I Lose With ESG?
Results vary. Your starting weight, health, nutrition, activity, and follow-up all play a role. During your consultation, Dr. Frenzel will discuss realistic expectations for your situation.
How Is ESG Different From Weight-Loss Surgery?
ESG folds and stitches the stomach from the inside using an endoscope. Gastric sleeve surgery removes part of the stomach through abdominal incisions. These are different procedures, with different benefits, risks, and expected results.
What Can I Expect During Recovery?
ESG is typically an outpatient procedure. You’ll need a ride home and a gradual return to eating as directed by your team. Nausea, discomfort, and time away from usual activities can occur. Your team will provide an individual recovery plan.
Is ESG Safe? What Should I Know?
ESG has risks, including pain, nausea, bleeding, infection, and anesthesia-related complications. Rare complications may require additional treatment or surgery. Dr. Frenzel will review these risks and alternatives with you.
